We are proud to participate in several food assistance programs that benefit both consumers and farmers.
By offering these programs we are able to bolster the spending power in our low-income community and encourage fresh, healthy, local food choices even for those on tight budgets.
Double Up Food Bucks
Double Up Food Bucks makes healthy choices easier.
Do you have SNAP/EBT benefits?
If so, the Double Up Food Bucks program is for you!
Free Spending Money
When you use your SNAP-EBT card at the Tri-County Market, Double Up matches your New Mexico-grown fruit and vegetable purchases dollar for dollar.
To get started, simply go to the Farmers Market Manager booth and ask about the Double Up program. Market staff will be happy to help you, there’s no extra paperwork and it’s free!
Double Up Food Bucks is a great way to get more fresh, healthy food on your table and to support local farmers in the process.

- You can get up to $25 in Double Up Food Bucks per day.
- You can use Double Up Food Bucks to buy all types of locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables.
- You can use it immediately if you are on SNAP; no extra paperwork required
- Double Up Food Bucks is a great way to stretch your food budget, encourage eating more fresh fruits and veggies, and get more healthy food for your family.
WIC & Seniors Market Nutrition Programs
Pave the path to healthy habits for generations to come.
The New Mexico WIC and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs are two great programs that help people eat more fresh, healthy food.
WIC FMNP
If you are a WIC participant in New Mexico, you are eligible for this program, which gives you $30 for each WIC participant, per family, in extra benefits to buy locally grown fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs from our Market.
Senior FMNP
If you are a senior (over age 60 for Non-Native Americans and over age 55 for Native Americans) living in New Mexico, you are eligible for this program, which gives you a shopper card with up to $50 to buy locally grown fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, and honey from our Market.
To Participate in Either Program:
- Click on the appropriate link below to register and receive your shopper card:
2. Visit the Market and look for the FMNP or SFMNP signs at vendor booths.
Please note: As it requires extra technology of the vendors to accept your shopper card, not all Market vendors are able to participate. Check with each vendor before making your selections.
Fresh Rx
More than just groceries, it’s a promise of health.
“Let Food Be Thy Medicine”
What is Fresh Rx?
FreshRx is a produce prescription program that helps people with diet-related illnesses, such as obesity, heart disease, and hypertension, eat more fruits and vegetables.
The program is grounded in the idea that food is the foundation of our health and can be medicine, and that everyone has the right to access high-quality, healthy food.
How does it work?
Patients receive food vouchers from their participating health clinic – locally for us that’s El Centro Family Health — and you redeem these with vendors at the Market.
For more information or to participate call El Centro Family Health at (505) 425-6788.
“Food is not just fuel. It’s connection, community, and culture.
Everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food.”
