  • I began farming because I have always loved everything about it. Working the soil, witnessing the metamorphosis of tiny seedlings popping and turning into full-grown plants. My grandfather and his dad were farmers, too. I have experienced the power of plant-based nutrition and the healing it can provide. Everything about all of it amazes me!

  • Whether creating, baking or cooking my works are filled with love. The things I cook and bake are made with organic ingredients as much as possible and bought from our Market. My creative work is set against a backdrop of my education at the Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts and RISD, and is spiritual in nature. I look forward all week to seeing my regulars and meeting new people; my purpose is to put smiles on people’s faces.
  • Goods include: Hollowbone dolls and various yummy eats, including gluten-free baked goods, breakfast burritos, lasagna, and more.

J Street Bread Co.

  • Matthew Lamstein; Las Vegas, NM
  • Selling at Market since 2023
  • When my daughter Sascha was born and came home to our little red farmhouse I thought it would be a good time to learn how to bake bread. I fell upon the Tassajara Bread Book and I have been using Mr. Brother Brown’s recipe for 50 years, the basic method for tasty, hearty bread-baking. I have baked commercially in four states and we feel truly blessed to have found a place with the Market.
  • Goods include: muffins, loaves and weekly specialties, often including morning glory muffins, walnut date yeasted rolls, and loaves: rye, whole wheat, multigrain and more.

Lone Tree Ranch

  • Bruce Soyez-Bernard; Apache Mesa, by Los Montoyas
  • Selling at Market since 2019
  • I bought the 80-acre ranch in 2018 and wanted to be as self-sufficient as possible. All produce is grown using permaculture methods, which is doing it in a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly way than conventional farming methods. Chickens roam free on the ranch, they help in reviving the soil, they’re healthier, happier hens and, of course, provide better eggs.
  • Goods include: pasture raised chicken eggs, rabbit meat and vegetables in season.

Miel de Mora Apiaries

  • Meg McGee; Mora, Rio la Casa, NM
  • Selling at Market since 2015
  • I began working with the honeybees in 2005, mentoring with Les Crowder and completing an intensive, season-long training in natural top-bar beekeeping. I host and nurture up to twenty-five topbar-style hives. The hives are managed in the high-altitude, short-season setting using no toxic inputs and focusing on hardy, healthy, locally-adapted and sourced colonies. I’m involved in advocating for and educating on pollinator health and habitat, and maintain individual mentorships.
  • Goods include: fine products from the generous gifts of the honeybees – honey, apitherapeutical tinctures, healing balms and salves, and skin delights. Also vegetables, fruits, flowers, and medicinal and culinary herbs.

Monarch Butterfly Co.

  • Deana DeHaven; Montezuma, NM
  • Selling at Market since 2023
  • I make and sell real farm-raised butterfly displays — ethically collected after they have lived out their natural lives — I believe in working with Mother Nature in a sustainable, equitable way, which is why my butterflies and feathers are consciously sourced with reverence for Mother Nature, taking no lives.
  • Goods include: real butterfly belt buckles, real butterfly jewelry, prayer feathers for ceremonial smudging made from wild turkey feathers, wild pheasant feathers, and macaw feathers from my birds, Willy and Ruby. I also make earrings from my macaw’s feathers. Additionally, I make dream catchers and am a 3D paper artist.

“I imagine a certain amount of consumer impulse will be replaced by community connection.

You can already see it starting with things like the local food movement.”
